Will Dracula Return in Castlevania: Nocturne Season 2? Delving into the Potential Scenarios

Dracula stands as the central figure in the Castlevania legacy, both in its video game origin and its animated adaptation. His conspicuous absence from Castlevania: Nocturne’s inaugural season stirred palpable anticipation among fans. As we gear up for Season 2 of this Netflix series, we’re eager to decode the potential for Dracula’s return.

While Dracula’s antagonistic role culminated in his defeat by Alucard, Trevor, and Sypha in the second season of the original series, his subsequent resurrection by Death and Saint Germain in Season 4 set a precedent for unexpected comebacks. This begs the question: Why was Dracula conspicuously missing from the first season of Castlevania: Nocturne? The rationale seems rooted in the series’ intent to spotlight fresh faces, even as it pays homage to legacy characters.

Yet, with Alucard’s reappearance delighting the fandom, the fervent hope for Dracula’s return has ignited anew.

Dracula in Castlevania: A Quick Recap

The original series chronicles Dracula’s union with the human, Lisa, a relationship that momentarily mollifies his longstanding disdain for humanity. But when zealots condemn Lisa as a witch, leading to her tragic demise, Dracula’s vengeful wrath knows no bounds. His vendetta sees him confront Trevor and Sypha. However, it’s his own son, Alucard, who steps into the fray, recognizing his father’s descent into unbridled rage and seeking to halt the looming genocide.

Their poignant confrontation in Season 2 ends with Dracula’s reluctant acceptance of death, only for him to be resurrected for a darker purpose in Season 4. Ultimately, finding renewed humanity alongside Lisa in London.

Considering that Castlevania: Nocturne is set three centuries post the original narrative, Lisa’s human lifespan means her presence is improbable. Dracula, however, is eternal. His existence during this timeframe is undeniable, though his whereabouts remain shrouded in mystery.

While official confirmations of Dracula’s entry into the Nocturne universe are scarce, Alucard’s unexpected debut leaves the door open for surprises. And given Lisa’s profound influence on Dracula’s perspectives, could we perhaps see a reformed Dracula championing the cause of humanity? If Alucard’s altered aesthetic in Nocturne is any indicator, we might even witness a revamped Dracula, should he grace the series.
